#11/20 – user is a crappy word for a customer
I hate ‘users’.
Not the people, the word.
I spent a lot of years as a ‘User Experience’ specialist.
And the title always made me feel weird.
Because the word ‘user’ is so impersonal and phony.
It tricks my brain into thinking they’re just numbers.
And it’s okay if 16.8% of users had a bad experience.
Because somehow 83.2% seems good enough.
Does anyone else have this feeling?
Is there a better word?
I definitely think user is a crappy word for a customer.
