#13/20 – Tell them all where to go

Is your website too nice?

Here are 10 spicy tactics to make your website a beast 👇

If you’re not afraid to p*ss off a few tyre-kickers, these tactics could win you more loyal customers…

1. Remove the menu

Don’t give them options. Give them one button. They can take it or leave.

2. Go all in on your hero product.

Stop selling your range. Focus on your best product.

3. Stop enabling the lurkers

Make one direct path to purchase. Remove the rest.

4. Highlight the consequences of inaction

People mostly buy to reduce pain. Twist the knife.

5. FOMO

No sympathy. Someone has to miss out. Tell them.

6. Make a disappearing offer

Offer a great deal that ends soon. Ramp up the urgency.

7. Limit the supply

Don’t make enough. You’re not trying to please everyone.

8. Reject everyone other than your ideal customer

Tailor everything to your perfect customer. Make it feel like discrimination.

9. Make people apply to work with you

Your time is valuable. Make them prove they’re worthy.

10. Replace your website with a Newsletter

Kill your website. Move to Substack and become a publisher.

Some of these moves might be too spicy for some.

Just remember, it’s not kindergarten, and you’re not trying to please everyone.

People won’t know what they need until you poke them in the right direction.

So tell them all where to go.
