#6/20 – Sell the pizza not the garlic bread
Can you have two things on your homepage?
I’ve had this conversation many times with clients.
It’s hard to be known for more than one thing…
Dominos has pizza.
Starbucks has coffee.
Lionel Messi has football.
Dyson has vacuum cleaners.
Michael Jordan has basketball.
Of course, they all have other things, too.
But they all got famous for one thing first.
A homepage should be clear and direct.
So visitors know exactly what you do and how to start.
That usually means one product, one messsage, one way forward.
On the homepage, I prefer to highlight your main thing.
And let them find the side dish if they need it.
Sell the pizza not the garlic bread.
